ABSTRACT
Danish belongs to the Scandinavian branch of the Germanic family. It is the official language of the Kingdom of Denmark, where it is spoken by over 5 million people, and joint official language of the Faroe Islands and of Greenland. For Dano-Norwegian, see Norwegian.
