ABSTRACT
In this chapter, the inverse relations are obtained for the linear excitation-response relations of time-invariant discrete parameter structures. In the inverse relations the response is expressed in terms of excitation quantities. They are needed for investigating the possibilities of controlling the response, assessing the effectiveness of any given control scheme, and for the placement actuators and sensors.
