Representations of Abelian Groups

We have already seen a number of representations of abelian groups of various orders (including the infinite cyclic group). In this chapter We’ll find all one-dimensional representations of finite abelian groups and then apply that knowledge to finding one-dimensional representations of nonabelian finite groups.
