ABSTRACT

There is, generally, an increasing volume of knowledge slowly accumulating about the relation between physical activity and the growing child, some of which has been obtained from children who compete in specific sporting activities. There is, however, surprisingly little information concerning the physiological characteristics of children who participate competitively in Soccer, despite the game being a popular and widespread recreational and competitive sport. The present study, therefore, seeks to provide details of some fundamental physiological characteristics of the young competitive soccer player.
