ABSTRACT

Complex figures are commonly used to assess visuospatial abilities and executive functioning in children and adults and there has been a steady increase in studies using such figures since 1976 (Knight, 2003a). While the most commonly used complex figure is the Rey–Osterrieth Complex Figure (ROCF; Osterrieth, 1944; Rey, 1941), other figures include the Taylor Complex Figure (TCF) (Taylor, 1969), Modified TCF (Hubley, 1996; Hubley & Tremblay, 2002), Medical College of Georgia Complex Figures (Loring & Meador, 2003), Mack Visual Design (Frazier, Adams, Strauss, & Redline, 2001), Modified ROCF (Saxton, Becker, & Wisniewski, 2003), and the complex figures from the Memory Test for Older Adults (Hubley & Tombaugh, 2002; Hubley, Tombaugh, & Hemingway, 2003).
