ABSTRACT

ZHANG LONGXI (B. 1947) IS A professor at the City University of Hong Kong. Educated at Peking University and Harvard University, and a former professor at the University of California Riverside, he has worked extensively on the exchanges in culture and literature between Asia and the West, most notably in Mighty Opposites: From Dichotomies to Differences in the Comparative Study of China (Stanford: Stanford University Press, 1998).
