ABSTRACT

Academic literature suggests that events have a positive contribution to the host area, including both tangible and intangible outcomes. This study reviews the related literature, identifies key issues in events tourism management, and highlights the need for a systematic framework for managing events. The aim is to propose a conceptual framework that enhances efficient events management, in order to optimize their contribution to wider development objectives. From a destination perspective, it is suggested that a value-chain approach and a network analysis could provide an appropriate basis for this exploration model and would contribute to efficient events management, in order to optimize beneficial outcomes.
