Self-erasing drawing, extend our understanding of drawing

both as category and process [4-1].1 The drawing is

mechanical. No human hand inscribes the marks and yet

the drawing possesses a physical presence related to

human labor often absent from other machine-made, let

us say digital, drawings. No paper or computer projection

is involved in its construction and yet this sand environment

communicates many aspects of paper-based and digital

drawing. No bodily or expressive gesture is present in

its aesthetic and yet a creative mind devised this drawing.
