ABSTRACT
My colleague Jack Nachbar first provided a “Selected Bibliography on the Western” in his 1974 collection Focus on the Western (Prentice Hall) followed in 1975 by Western Films: An Annotated Critical Biography from Garland Press and in 1988 Western Films 2: An Annotated Critical Biography from 1974 to 1987. In 2005, Jack and I compiled for Hollywood’s West: The American Frontier in Film, Television, and History, edited by Peter C. Rollins and John E. O’Connor, University of Kentucky Press, an updated “Bibliography: Trail Dust Books about Western Movies: Selected Classics and Works since 1980.”
