ABSTRACT

One of the most challenging aspects of working in LTC is the behavioral problems that we must address. In the last chapter, we talked about how counseling might help a resident to address emotional problems. In Chapter 7, we make specific suggestions for dealing with certain behavioral problems. In this chapter, we teach you how to do a behavioral analysis of the problem, so that you leave no stone unturned in trying to figure out why a resident is behaving in a certain way. Your behavioral analysis can, in turn, lead to very specific interventions for that resident’s problem.
