What Works: Part II—Drug Treatment
Drug education will probably never be completely successful. The very nature of the drugs we are trying to stop is that they are seductive, and some people will never respond to education about them. Hence, addiction and addicts, even if greatly reduced, will remain a problem for a long time to come. What do we do with these victims? Do we just lock them up and forget about them, or is there a better way of dealing with the problem?
