ABSTRACT
One of the most difficult challenges in all of life is dealing with a death that is senseless. Death in old age is expected. Death from a disease is understandable. Even death in an accident is a tragic extension of something we are all familiar with. But death caused by the random violence of strangers is so bewildering that there are no models in our culture for dealing with it.
