ABSTRACT

Absolutely. For the behavior analyst, “behavior change begins at home” is a commonly accepted value. We take seriously the notion that professionals in this field should “walk the walk,” not just “talk the talk.” By analyzing their own behavior, specialists in this new technology can not only model for others how behavior change can be done, but they can also gain some sense of how difficult it can be to change behavior. As a behavior analyst, changing one's own problem behaviors will result in a greater understanding of what clients are experiencing.
