ABSTRACT
The United Nations has sponsored several treaties dealing with human rights, though ratifying countries are fewer in number than those represented in the UN General Assembly (which, of course, was itself established by a treaty). The non-Charter organs are presented in this chapter, followed by a discussion of several international organizations with a global scope that are outside the UN framework — principally the International Criminal Court and related judicial bodies, the International Criminal Police Organization, and the World Trade Organization.
