You may have read, heard about, or even discovered for yourself other methods of controlling your weight apart from restricting intake. The commonest methods chosen are making yourself vomit or taking laxatives or diuretics. Often these methods of "weight-control" are started when a person feels that dieting alone doesn't have the desired effect, or once binges have begun. Part of you may feel, "I can have my cake and eat it"- however, this is far from the truth. Part of you is probably somewhat ashamed and worried about using these practices. You are right to be worried.
