ABSTRACT

One of the most difficult things about coping with anorexia nervosa is the feeling of isolation and confusion. Despite the media interest few of us really know what it is like to be, or to live with someone who is struggling with the illness. It is unusual to know another family who has the same problem. Families are full of questions. What is happening to us? What should we do about it? Why has this happened to us? What did we do that was wrong? You may fear that it is your family's unique shortcomings which have led to the problem. We hope that after reading Chapter 3 you do not blame yourselves.
