ABSTRACT

The “Auschwitz lie,” an ugly term implying that the National Socialist murder of six million Jews never happened, has become widely known in Germany, thanks to a brochure written by the recently deceased German neo-Nazi, Thies Christopherson. In 1944 this man was detailed for work in the Plant Cultivation Department of Auschwitz. Claiming the competence of an eyewitness, and with the help of right-wing argumentation, he tried to prove that Auschwitz was a pleasant place where prisoners danced and sang at work; newcomers, undernourished on their arrival in the camp, were given time to enjoy being pepped up. 1
