ABSTRACT
Once the analytic dataset is developed and written out to *.csv format, as we did in Chapter 2, we are ready to begin the first step of our analysis, which is a descriptive analysis. This means making the archetypal “Table 1,” which is the deliverable that documents the results of our descriptive analysis. The structure of Table 1 can differ from publication to publication depending upon the analyst’s preferred style, and also, depending upon whether the dependent variable is categorical or continuous.
