ABSTRACT

Mobile devices are portable personal technologies that we can take with us on the go. Mobile applications are software programs that run on these devices. Common examples of mobile devices include smartphones, tablets, smart watches, and other devices with the ability to roam freely with their users in physical space. As compared to their desktop cousins, mobile devices have special design constraints that badge designers should recognize and consider when devising badges for these platforms. This chapter considers examples of digital badges in mobile environments and provides design recommendations for mobile badging.
