Fifty Years Later: Am I Still an Immigrant?

I came to this country in the spring of 1939, when Europe was on the brink of the second World War. Hitler had invaded Austria and Czechoslovakia and was attempting to cleanse the German Race of undesirable non-Arians. Jews were systematically being exterminated in concentration camps and hard labor camps.
