ABSTRACT
This chapter summarizes the commonalities in the identification of systematic flaws in our food system, both domestically and internationally, that enable the trivialization of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and their proliferation, which undermine food safety, security, and sovereignty. Moreover, this chapter summarizes the book’s conclusions about the preservation of food integrity and obstacles thereto. Finally, the chapter explains how communication challenges in food policy fuel the trivialization of GMO risks to the food system and discusses sustainability and the polluter -pays principles. Finally, the chapter concludes ends with an overarching conclusion about the limits of using the law to address the challenges of our food system.
