ABSTRACT

Isaiah (45: 14) says it clearly: “Surely God is in thee, and there is none else, There is no other God.” Strict monotheism: nothing can be further from Greek or Hindu polytheism. And so it was always says the Hebrew Bible. 1 “Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one …” says Deuteronomy (6: 4). According to Biblical experts Deuteronomy was one of the first books completed by the scribes and priests who wrote the original scrolls making up the Bible. It contains the Ten Commandments. It sets the stage for the Hebrew conquest of the land of Canaan as predicted in Numbers (33: 50–52), an act of determined preplanned predation:

And the Lord spoke unto unto Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying ‘Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them: When ye pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan, then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their figured stones, and destroy all their molten images, and demolish all their high places.
