ABSTRACT
While the previous chapter focused on the impact of international courts specifically on peace negotiations, a second and different question is whether and how the actions of international courts impact on ongoing violence, or the threat of violence, or on reducing or deterring human rights abuses. This may or may not be in the context of peace negotiations.
