ABSTRACT

Two types of conclusions are suggested by this analysis of the role of business in U.S. policy-making for the Coffee Agreement, the cocoa negotiations and the soluble coffee dispute. First, conclusions can be drawn concerning the role of business in deciding U.S. policies for these particular issues. Second, other conclusions about business and policy-making, in general, can link this study and its findings to generalizations from other studies of business, or more broadly, of interest groups and policy-making.
