ABSTRACT

The chapter gives a rather comprehensive account of how various cases are settled among the Paite and draws the readers’ attention to the concept of settling conflict within the family, which is common to many of the tribes in this book, but has taken a formal structure among the Paite in the form of the inndongta, or ‘household council’.
