ABSTRACT

Creative people have inherited sensitivity to such things as mathematics, art, music, and literature. In many case these people come from families that have passed this sensitivity from generation to generation. Although the importance of our analytical skills should not be underestimated, they are only one aspect of our thinking process and are sometimes over-used as well as misused. Creativity creates new and original results; it reveals a discovery. These new ideas may be the result of inspiration or serendipity. Thomas Alva Edison claimed his inventions were the result of 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration. People who have cultivated and developed their creativity can come from vastly different backgrounds and environments. Games can play an important part in activating creativity and the conceptualizing of ideas. A creative technique that has been proven to work successfully is Blast-Create-Refine. This technique not only works well but is an outstanding process for simplifying or reducing cost.
