ABSTRACT

Tubular members possess a special beauty, a certain elegance, due to the purity and simplicity of their shape. They convey harmony when used to create more complex structures, in which the individual elements, the tubes themselves, attract little attention, but where the global appearance, with its well-finished connections, becomes very attractive. Structural efficiency and good plastic behaviour are other advantages of tubular members. The paper presents a number of examples of tubular construction.
