ABSTRACT

In choosing an appropriate placement model for a client with a traumatic brain injury (TBI), a practical first step is generally vocational evaluation or assessment. Without some type of uniform vocational goal-setting procedure, the choice of a placement approach or model can become left to chance. Several articles or chapters in the literature present an overview of the vocational evaluation process in traumatic brain injury rehabilitation. These include work by Fraser (1991)’ and Chan et al. (1991). 2 The current chapter reviews some of the core issues and describes categories of activity within the vocational evaluation process.
