ABSTRACT

During the 1980s, people and organizations pursued “excellence” with great vigor and determination. And, while creating excellence will probably continue as a mainstay during the 1990s, a new quest has clearly emerged: the pursuit of integration and balance. Individuals, families, organizations, and society in general increasingly see the need for greater harmony among professional career and personal relationships, worldly success and spiritual fulfillment, economic prosperity and environmental protection, accomplishment and peace of mind, tough-mindedness and gentleness, immediate gratification and enduring joy, for this generation and future generations.
