The uses of beryllium include: as a source of neutrons in nuclear reactors; in the manufacturing of electronic and radio tubes, electric heating elements, x-ray tube windows; in the preparation of ceramic and crystals; and as a component of vehicles, guidance systems, radar devices, nose cones, jet plane brakes, and missiles. 3
