ABSTRACT
The uses of carbon tetrachloride include: previously as a dry cleaning chemical, fire extinguisher and degreasing agent, however, FDA has restricted usage to laboratory and industrial use; as a grain fumigant; and as a solvent and chemical intermediate in the manufacture of fluorocarbons, Freon 11 and 12. 3 , 16 In addition, carbon tetrachloride is also used as a general solvent in industrial degreasing operations. 16
