ABSTRACT

The pillar of respect for people is the outcome of sound design developed in the cornerstone of individual performance planning with effective implementation delivered in the foundation of individual performance management. Respect for people is the fundamental positive regard for ourselves and for one another as people that grounds personal commitment to quality performance. Respect for people and social tolerance are particularly important in valuing diversity and achieving inclusivity in today's workplace. Respect for people includes both sincere self-respect and sincere respect for others to enhance personal performance integration in a total quality work culture. The work-relevant knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) of individuals and their motive patterns make them more or less disposed to constructively support total quality initiatives. In total quality organizations, as individuals are empowered their increased autonomy can lead to heightened personal work performance and can reciprocally reduce the effects of system constraints and demands.
