ABSTRACT

VZ Camelopardalis, some way from Polaris, has a range of from magnitude 4.8 to 5.2, and is quite prominent in the photograph because of its redness; it is of type M. There are several small-range variables in Camelopardalis. RV is a semi-regular star which fluctuates between about magnitudes 7 and 8; it is of type M, and the colour is pronounced enough when observed through a telescope even though it does not come out well in the photograph simply because the star is not bright enough. BE, which forms a triangle with Beta and Alpha, is clearly orange-red, but it fluctuates only between magnitudes 4.4 and 4.5. BU, which is one of a trio of dim stars, has an equally small range.
