ABSTRACT

Since the mechanical properties are closely related to the microstructure, mechanical property data are given in most of the references quoted with regard to structural aspects. In single crystal superalloys, the γ’ volume fraction is relatively constant, and a particle size of about 0.45 μηι appears to be an optimum for both the yield and creep strengths and for hot hardness 45, 293 , although this value may vary slightly, for example with mismatch (Figure 9.1-1).
