Basic Equations of Fluid Dynamics

WithJuan C. Heinrich, Darrell W. Pepper

The FEM can be characterized as a method to find numerical approximations to the solution of differential equations–it requires a mathematical model that represents the physical problem of interest before it can be applied. The finite element solutions that we generate, even if they are exact, will be a good solution only if the mathematical model that we use is a good representation of the physical system.
