ABSTRACT
II. THE DELANEY ANTICANCER CLAUSES IN THE FDC ACT 568
III. FDA ENFORCEMENT AGAINST CARCINOGENIC COSMETIC INGREDIENTS
IV. FUTURE FDA POLICY
Regulation of potential or proven carcinogens has increasingly been a major focus not just of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) but indeed of several government agencies. Moreover, because cancer is our most feared disease, these regulatory activities have achieved widespread national interest. This chapter therefore can only highlight important landmarks in the development of public policy on cancer, and particularly those that involve cosmetic indredients.
