ABSTRACT

A point process is a model for events that occur separated in time or space. We will describe a clustering model for traffic density. The relation between nerve cells is analyzed using nonparametric inference. We look at some nonstationary models, including a periodic model of cyclonic storms and a counting process approach to a problem in medical sociology. Radar and rain gauge approaches to precipitation measurements are related using a marked point process. Methods for spatial point processes are used to assess some ecological theory of tropical forests.
