ABSTRACT
In this investigation we achieved to an accurate formula to calculate the welding connections and their rupture limits against the applied forces. The result of the experimental work shown that the carrying capacity of welded connection in rupture points is higher than in yield points. This provides good degree of safety against heavy loads especially earthquakes. On the other hands, the main factors in raising the degree of restraint are studied which leads to an approach in evaluating the stiffness of connection accurately.
