ABSTRACT
Introduced by Fazlur Khan, Framed Tube building systems have been appreciated for their high horizontal stiffness, and widely used for the wind resistant design tall buildings. In this paper the wind and seismic performances of a 40-story FT building are compared. In particular the role of damping is considered, and the effectiveness of additional damping devices in mitigating the structural response is investigated.
