ABSTRACT

The employment of steel in architectural restoration has always been an issue of interest to experts of this field. The following article exemplifies, introduces a project experience that benefited from the versatility of steel for the solution of a specific problem related to the connection of steel tie-beams, usually employed in consolidation works, to the resistant stoneworks of an ecclesiastic building, namely the Abbey of S. Michele Arcangelo situated on “Terra Murata”, in Procida.
