ABSTRACT
Through the comparison and analysis of displacements measured in the field, the two-dimensional FE model that can consider rheology of soil and can simulate the staged construction of excavation was set up. According to this model, the main factors influencing on strata deformation in excavation are studied in details. These main factors include different steps in excavation, reinforcing soil inside foundation pit, installing strut, and stiffness of wall, tie beam and its stiffness. Then the laws of strata deformation in the bottom of foundation pit and round it are obtained.
