Types of brick masonry structures of Romania for old and new buildings and special features of earthquake induced damage

Some data on the seismicity of Romania are presented. Some representative categories of masonry buildings of Romania are dealt with: historical religious monuments (churches), other monumental buildings and usual (as a rule residential) buildings. The typology of their structures, as well as the specific typology of earthquake induced damage, are presented. Some data concerning the dynamic characteristics of buildings pertaining to the categories dealt with are presented too.
