ABSTRACT

Conclusions: Virtually the aim of this Ph.D.-thesis was to develop a “green signal lamp” which indicates when a certain soil density is achieved during deep vibration compaction. In the chapter 2 it was shown that this should be possible by measuring the amplitudes of the vibrator at its tip and shoulder, as well as the phase angle of the leading eccentric mass (see figure 2.14). Analysing these values during the vibration conclusions about a compaction success can be drawn. For the development of the “green signal lamp”field tests are still necessary.
