ABSTRACT
Gathering a complete set of reliable basic data is the critical first step in the economic analysis of resource recovery. The accuracy and viability of all calculations performed in the other sections of the analysis depend on the data gathered in this task. For example, waste quantity information is the basis for facility sizing (and hence capital and operating costs), transportation costs, and the calculation of revenues.
