ABSTRACT

Motorola is one of the world's leading providers of wireless communications, semiconductors, and advanced electronic systems and services. Motorola Semiconductor Products, headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, designs, produces, and distributes a broad line of discrete semiconductors and integrated circuits, including microprocessors, RF devices, microcomputers, memories, and sensors. Motorola continually seeks ways to work with all members of the community, including the differently abled. As the need for skilled professionals increases, the diverse qualified talent within the community will continually be utilized. Motorola's intent is to provide appropriate opportunities for all employees, matching the skills and abilities to the placement. At Phoenix Semiconductor Products Sector (SPS), the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) has brought about a renewed commitment to work with the differently abled within the community. The advent of the ADA prompted SPS to unify and document processes throughout the Phoenix area, solidifying and reinforcing the philosophy/practice of providing equal employment to those who are differently able.
