ABSTRACT

UNUM Life Insurance Company of America is the largest subsidiary within the UNUM Corporation. It is an insurance company whose core business is group employee benefit products, and it is the nation's leading provider of group and individual disability insurance. The invigorated disability management program is under the leadership of the manager of disability and benefit administration. The functional purpose of the disability management portion of this position is to work directly with employees, managers, supervisors, human resource personnel, and key decision makers within UNUM America. As well as with other internal areas of the organization involved in disability and prevention, in order to positively impact profitability and performance issues pertaining to employee disability and disability-related costs. A Customer Value Team was established to create a new business architecture that would both provide a competitive advantage and enhance the value of the company's offerings to its customers.
