ABSTRACT

The Dona Francisca Hydroelectric Power Plant,125 MW, is located on the Jacuí river in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, in the southern region of Brazil.

The Dam RCC volume is 485.000 m3 of RCC. In the construction of Dona Francisca several action are made to obtain a good uniformity of the RCC. The Average Standard Deviation obtained for RCC Mixes, 11,3% is lower than the obtained for CVC, 11,5%, and was the better obtained for RCC Dams constructed until 2000 in Brazil. The experience of the quality control team by LACTEC, the up grade in the Production Plant, the use of admixtures in a large scale, and the severe control of the parameter made possible a production of a high and uniform RCC with low cement content and low cost.
