ABSTRACT
The roller compacted concrete (RCC) dam is one of the most vital types of dams in today’s world. Since 1998, CGGC has built fourteen RCC dams in China. These structures include six RCC gravity dams, two RCC thin-type arch dams, four RCC gravity coffer dams, one RCC arch coffer dam and one RCC gravity guide wall. These structures represent approximately 4.30 million m3 of RCC placed. With respect to these projects, this Overview puts great emphasis onto describing CGGC’s creative results in its construction technique and its devotion to the science of RCC construction. This study includes the selection and development of the equipment for concrete transportation and placement, joint making technique, spray fog technology and construction joint treatment method etc. The CGGC’s capacity concerning RCC construction technique and equipments is last given in this article.
