ABSTRACT
Photoelectric absorption coefficients were listed instead of total attenuation coefficients, which are most useful for narrowbeam situations. Photoelectric coefficients are more appropriate for common broadbeam problems such as calculating the X-ray transmission through a filter or the self-absorption corrections in quantitative spectrochemical analysis. For some problems, such as predicting the efficiency of a detector, other components of the total attenuation would also be needed.
