ABSTRACT

In my previous textbook [17d] a more extensive treatment of the use of Laplace transforms was published. In this chapter only the bare essentials are given to allow the reader to use Laplace transforms to obtain integrated linear pharmacokinetic equations. In the method of Laplace transforms the derivative in a linear differential equation is replaced by its Laplace transform and the resulting algebraic equation(s) is (are) solved by simple methods. The solution is obtained by taking the inverse Laplace transform or antitransform.
